Belinda Zhang is a Singaporean artist currently majoring in Painting at the Rhode Island School of Design with a concentration in History, Philosophy, and the Social Sciences. Her works delve into concepts of mortality, existentialism, and the emotional contradictions inherent to the human condition. Drawing upon diverse cultural perspectives and death customs through personal experiences and academic research, her art deeply engages with life and death's uncertainties.
Belinda is known for her illustrative oil paintings featuring the female figure and flesh, often incorporating Morse code within its ornamentation. Through emotionally charged imagery, she explores the tension between internal experience and external expectation, inviting viewers into a space of reflection, discomfort, and connection.
